This May we are bringing awareness and recognition to our community about Gluten Free Beauty for Celiac Awareness Month! I’m Melissa, Brand Manager of Baebody, and I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 6 months ago! Celiac Disease, for those of that don’t know, is an inherited autoimmune disorder that affects the digestive process of the small intestine. When a person with celiac disease consumes gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye, the immune system responds by attacking the intestines and sometimes the entire body if left undiagnosed. Currently the only treatment for celiac disease is a strict gluten free diet and a change in lifestyle. Luckily for you, I’m here to provide some great tips and tricks as well as Amazon finds to make your journey that much easier!
If you’re not gluten free, it’s still important to be aware and educated! Celiac Disease is one of the most undiagnosed autoimmune disorders out there. There is reason to believe that almost 1% of Americans suffer from this and 97% of those people have not been diagnosed by their doctor. A Gluten Free lifestyle is not just a fad, it’s a very serious way of life for some people. I hope these tips help a few of you and that we can continue to educate our community together!
eos lip balm
First things first, lip balms and celiac disease…it may seem silly to some, but for us gluten free peeps this is huge! eos lip balms are 100% gluten free thankfully, so you don’t have to worry about accidently ingesting gluten when trying to avoid chapped lips. They also are reasonably priced from $2.99-$6, come in the best scents (I love the honey apple), and they keep your lips hydrated for 24 hours! 10/10 would recommend these little balms and if you don’t believe me, check out the 19,000+ reviews!
mary ruth’s hand cream
Say it with me, “If it’s on your hands, it will likely end up in your mouth.” Something I learned on my own that was not included in the gluten free handbook I was given is that you want to make sure the products you use on your hands are gluten free. Example: Melissa washes her hands and applies hand cream. 10 minutes later- Melissa pulls out a bag of grapes and eats one. Melissa then has a flare up…but the only thing she has eaten is grapes. It was the hand cream! Luckily for us, Mary Ruth has created a gluten free hand cream that we LOVE! It’s vegan, gluten free, plant based & unscented! It’s $19.95 for 4 oz, but well worth it if you are in need of deep hydration and a clean formula.
honeybee gardens mascara
When it comes to eye makeup and being gluten free, it’s not a huge must! But, when you’re already all in and making the lifestyle change, we like to keep it clean and consistent. Honeybee Gardens Mascara is vegan, gluten free & cruelty free! It also applies nice and thick even though it’s a natural formula and the pictures on the reviews are amazing. For $14.99 this is the perfect clean alternative for your regular drug store mascara.
badger beard oil
This one is for the boys! Keep your beard feeling moisturized & kept with beard oil from badger. This gluten free, all-natural oil will keep your beard soft but not greasy. Perfect for a gluten free lifestyle or if you’re dating someone who is gluten free! (No one wants to cuddle up to a beard full of gluten…) We also love the bergamot & vanilla scent that this comes in and it’s only $21!
baebody castor oil
When it comes to Celiacs Disease, there is no one size fits all. We all experience our symptoms in different ways! For some of us, it can completely throw off our hormones. For others we can experience malnutrition and hair loss. That’s why all-natural products are perfect for us! Baebody castor oil can be used for a number of things. Use it as a treatment in your hair after showering for hair growth. Or, apply it to your brows and lashes for a natural boost to your beauty routine! Though she is small at 1oz, she is extremely mighty for $15.95 and I definitely recommend this product. (It also comes with convenient little applicators which is a huge plus!)
lara bar variety pack
We all have that one food that we lived off of during the pandemic and for me it was definitely chocolate chip cookie dough lara bars. These are the perfect snack to throw into your bag for an emergency or to have in your snack drawer. They are made with dates (even though you’d never know unless you read the ingredients) and are vegan/gluten free/dairy free! I could not recommend these more and with the variety pack you can try 8 flavors for $25.
high key protein cereal
If it’s viral on tik tok it has to be good, am I right? I haven’t personally tried this product, but I am super excited to! All the Keto Queens on tik tok talk about this all the time and how it tastes just like fruity pebbles. (My true celiacs know the great debate on cereal and if those cheerios and rice krispies are “gluten free” or not.) High key protein cereal is 100% grain free, gluten free, low calorie and keto friendly! Give it a try and let me know what you think! I will report back as well.
bai fusion
Bai flavored water gets 5 stars from both me and the 21,000 people on Amazon raving about it too! There isn’t one flavor that I dislike and these 18oz drinks also have 35mg of caffeine! The perfect little pick me up without overdoing the caffeine content, which we love. Also, since they are coming from Amazon, you can get a 12-pack delivered straight to your door which is a huge plus. (Especially if you’re like me living in the city without a car!) Try it for yourself and grab a 12 pack of the Rainforest Fusion for $17.
Baebody Retinol Moisturizer
Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t need to be cautious about your skincare when gluten free! Moisturizers can get right into your mouth throughout the day especially if you apply to those laugh lines and then sweat through the day. All of our face moisturizers at baebody are gluten free, but I really love the retinol moisturizer because it also has great anti-aging properties and helps with my acne! You can also check out our other moisturizers on our comparison chart at the bottom of the product page on Amazon.
Conclusion
